Harbin's manufacturing sector is accelerating its digital upgrade, with city officials reporting progress from a recent digital transformation alignment meeting. To date, Harbin has cultivated three national-level excellence smart factories, four 5G factories, 209 provincial-level digital workshops, and 24 smart factories, continuously pushing manufacturing enterprises toward digital, networked, and intelligent upgrades.
During the meeting, Heilongjiang Yilin Network Co., Ltd., China Unicom, and China Tower each delivered presentations on topics such as small and medium-sized enterprise digitalization evaluation systems and real-world digital transformation case studies. These sessions provided manufacturing firms with actionable and replicable transformation pathways and complete solutions.
Advancing manufacturing digital transformation is a critical step in developing new quality productive forces, building a modern industrial system, and pursuing a new path of industrialization. At present, the city is leveraging two national-level pilot projects and relying on its municipal public service platform to successfully cultivate three national-level excellence smart factories, four 5G factories, 209 provincial-level digital workshops, and 24 smart factories. This has initially formed a gradient cultivation pattern for digital benchmarking. However, challenges remain, including insufficient precision in supply-demand matching, limited effectiveness of benchmark demonstration-driven efforts, and weak initiative among SMEs for transformation.
Moving forward, Harbin will comprehensively roll out enterprise digitalization level evaluations, focusing on key industries and key enterprises to promote intelligent upgrades in a tiered and categorized manner. The city will continue to host regular supply-demand alignment events, guiding digital service providers to work directly on the frontline and provide proactive services to tackle practical issues during the transformation process.
Deputy Director of the Harbin Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Yu Xisen, stated that Harbin will persistently release industrial policies, digital technology updates, and corporate supply-demand lists. It will continue to build platforms for alignment and exchange, comprehensively enhancing the city's overall manufacturing digitalization level to empower the collaborative development of high-end, intelligent, and green manufacturing, thereby solidifying the digital foundation for building a strong manufacturing city.
