HUANENG POWER (00902) has announced that a resolution to elect Mr. Mei Shengwei as an independent non-executive director on the company's 11th board of directors was approved by shareholders. As a result, Mr. Xia Qing's resignation took effect at the conclusion of the extraordinary general meeting, and Mr. Mei Shengwei officially assumed his position from that moment, with a term lasting until the end of the 11th board's tenure. Upon expiration of his term as a director of the company, Mr. Mei Shengwei is eligible for re-election and reappointment.

Additionally, effective from the conclusion of the extraordinary general meeting, the board has made the following adjustments to the composition of relevant special committees: (i) appointed Mr. Mei Shengwei as a member of the 11th board's Strategy Committee and Audit Committee; (ii) appointed current independent non-executive director Mr. He Qiang as Chairman of the 11th board's Nomination Committee; and (iii) appointed current independent non-executive director Mr. Zhang Xianchong as a member of the 11th board's Nomination Committee.
