POWER ASSETS (00006) has released its interim results for the 2026 financial year, reporting a significant jump in profit attributable to shareholders.

The group recorded revenue of HK$298 million for the first half of 2026, a decrease of 15.34% year-on-year. However, profit attributable to company shareholders surged 383.37% to HK$14.704 billion, compared to HK$3.042 billion in the same period of 2025. Earnings per share stood at HK$6.9, with an interim dividend of HK$0.78 per share declared.

The exceptional financial performance was primarily driven by the group's strategic sale of its interests in UK Power Networks (UKPN) and UK Rails. By capitalising on favourable market valuations to monetise these assets, the company generated substantial accounting and cash gains, providing ample liquidity for future investments.

The global operating and investment environment remains challenging, marked by intensifying geopolitical tensions and persistent inflationary pressures. Despite this uncertainty, POWER ASSETS continues to demonstrate resilience, with its diversified business portfolio performing steadily. The company's strategy of focusing on regulated assets continues to deliver stable and reliable returns.

A solid financial foundation remains a cornerstone of the group's core growth strategy. S&P Global Ratings has reaffirmed its 'A/Stable' credit rating for the group. As of 30 June 2026, POWER ASSETS held a net cash position of HK$42.505 billion, providing strong capacity to navigate future challenges, explore new growth opportunities, and identify quality acquisitions that meet its investment criteria.
