According to reports citing three unnamed sources familiar with the matter, Hong Kong-based CKH Holdings and French telecom operator Iliad are in preliminary discussions about a potential merger of their Italian businesses.

Iliad's Italian operations are independently valued at over €3 billion, while the deal involving CKH Holdings' Italian subsidiary Wind Tre may proceed through a joint venture structure.
