The Laodou River Comprehensive Remediation Project (EPC) in Fengnan District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, undertaken by China Railway 18th Bureau Group, is progressing efficiently. Core tasks such as slope trimming and silt removal are steadily advancing as planned. By early 2026, the dredging phase is expected to be fully completed, laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction and ecological restoration efforts.
Spanning over 24 kilometers, the project involves the construction or renovation of nearly 100 structures. The construction faces significant challenges due to densely populated residential areas and complex cross-village routes, requiring meticulous coordination. To address these challenges, the project team has implemented refined management practices, including the use of low-noise equipment, sound barriers, and intelligent dust suppression systems. Work schedules have been optimized to minimize disruption to residents, while weather conditions are closely monitored to ensure uninterrupted progress in critical phases.
A "closed-loop control" system has been established to embed high standards into every stage, from survey and design to construction. Key processes, such as interlocking block revetment and structural building, undergo full-time supervision to eliminate quality risks at the source.
Adhering to the principles of "public welfare first, quality foremost, and safety priority," the project team balances rapid progress with community welfare. Measures like eco-friendly construction practices and well-planned work hours have fostered public understanding and support.
Upon completion, the Laodou River remediation project will significantly enhance flood control capacity, improve the ecological environment along the river, and contribute to regional ecological coordination in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, urban renewal in Tangshan, and sustainable socio-economic development.
