Shares of data center operator-related stocks rallied broadly, with Microsoft and Amazon.com gaining nearly 2%, while ServiceNow and Salesforce.com advanced more than 2%.
The sector's outperformance comes as investors rotate capital. Michael Wilson, Chief U.S. Equity Strategist at Morgan Stanley, noted that the upward momentum in semiconductor stocks is clearly waning. Funds are increasingly shifting toward lagging stocks, particularly AI-related hyperscale data center operators.
According to Wilson, companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta continue to maintain unique appeal within the AI ecosystem, underpinned by their robust core business fundamentals.
