CHINA COMM CONS books RMB556.24 billion in Q1 2026 new contracts, achieving 29% of annual target

China Communications Construction Company Limited (CHINA COMM CONS) reported new contracts valued at RMB556.24 billion for the first quarter of 2026, edging up 0.58% year on year and meeting 29% of its full-year target. The quarterly total is 2.6% higher than the comparable base figure for 2025, which stood at RMB1.88 trillion for the full year.

By business type, new-quality infrastructure remained the growth engine, contributing RMB539.97 billion, a 1.02% increase over the prior-year period. Design and consulting contracted to RMB13.44 billion, down 13.38%, while other businesses accounted for RMB2.83 billion, slipping 5.68%.

Segment performance showed “Whole Transportation” leading at RMB260.85 billion, underpinned by road & bridge (RMB113.12 billion) and water transportation (RMB96.97 billion). “Whole Cities” followed with RMB203.82 billion, driven primarily by housing construction. “Whole Green” segments—dominated by new energy projects—secured RMB50.38 billion, and emerging business areas, including energy conservation, new energy, new materials and next-generation IT, added RMB127.34 billion.

Overseas markets delivered strong momentum: contract value surged 25.93% to RMB134.59 billion (USD18.86 billion), representing 24% of total new contracts. Domestic bookings declined 5.49% to RMB421.65 billion.

Investment-led projects accelerated, with infrastructure and other investment contracts (attributable basis) reaching RMB35.66 billion, a 142.07% jump year on year. Construction and installation work for these projects is estimated at RMB33.21 billion.

Major signings in the quarter include the RMB28.43 billion EPC phase of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port in Kuwait, a RMB26.65 billion BOT expressway project in Guangdong, and the RMB15.43 billion Changi Airport Terminal 5 basement works in Singapore. No major projects remain signed but un-commenced as of the reporting date.
