The World Artificial Intelligence Conference and AI Global Governance High-Level Meeting is currently taking place in Shanghai from July 17th to 20th.

During the Tencent AI Application Innovation Forum, Vice President of Tencent Holdings Ltd., Lin Songtao, shared his insights. He stated that the true value of artificial intelligence is always realized in real-world scenarios. As AI technology has advanced, various sectors, companies, and individuals encounter numerous daily challenges that cannot be fully resolved simply by further upgrades and iterations of large language models.

Lin Songtao emphasized that for AI to genuinely create value, it must first understand the specific, vertical needs faced by enterprises and individuals. He noted a significant observation: empowering professionals who are already experts in their respective business domains to utilize AI tools is far more effective and faster at generating substantial value and capability than training AI specialists to learn those specific business operations. This approach, he stated, aligns with the core objective of achieving broad and equitable AI adoption, where the technology should serve every facet and industry.
