Thursday, July 9, The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index has expanded its early gains to 5% in early trading. Leading the rally, Lam Research (LRCX) and Applied Materials have both surged more than 10%. Marvell Technology is up over 8%, AMD has climbed more than 6%, and Intel is trading over 5% higher.

On the downside, NVIDIA is slipping more than 1%.
