Regarding the options market, a total volume of 60,450,365 contracts was traded on Wednesday.

A total number of 2.58 million options related to Advanced Micro Devices were traded on Wednesday, of which call options accounted for 63%. Particularly high volume was seen for the $230 strike call option expiring Oct. 10, with 104,316 contracts trading. Shares of NVIDIA jumped 2.2% on Wednesday.

Shares of POET Technologies Inc rose 17% on Wednesday after the company announced the closing of a $75 million private placement with a single institutional investor.
