BOC Hong Kong taps Professor Sunny Lee to head Sustainability Committee as INED Eva Cheng retires

BOC Hong Kong (Holdings) Limited (“BOC Hong Kong”) announced that, following the immediate conclusion of its annual general meeting and that of its principal operating subsidiary, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited, on 25 June 2026, Independent Non-executive Director (INED) Madam Eva Cheng stepped down from the board. Her retirement also ended her roles as Chairlady of the Sustainability Committee and as a member of both the Audit Committee and the Strategy and Budget Committee.

The company confirmed that Madam Cheng has no disagreement with the board and that no matters related to her departure need to be brought to shareholders’ attention. The board expressed appreciation for her contributions during her tenure.

Concurrently, Professor Sunny Wai Kwong Lee, already an INED, has been appointed Chairman of the Sustainability Committee with immediate effect.

Following these changes, the 11-member board now comprises: • Non-executive Directors: Mr Ge Haijiao (Chairman), Mr Zhang Hui (Vice-Chairman), Mr Cai Zhao • Executive Director: Mr Sun Yu (Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive) • Independent Non-executive Directors: Dr Choi Koon Shum, Madam Fung Yuen Mei Anita, Mr Law Yee Kwan Quinn, Professor Sunny Wai Kwong Lee, Mr Liao Cheung Kong Martin, Mr Lip Sai Wo, Professor Ma Si Hang Frederick

All changes took effect on 25 June 2026.
