Hong Kong-listed Niche-Tech Semiconductor Materials Limited announced that separate bankruptcy petitions were filed on 11 September 2026 in the High Court of Hong Kong against its Executive Chairman Dr. Chow Bok Hin Felix and Executive Director Professor Chow Chun Kay Stephen. Both individuals are also controlling shareholders of the company.

The petitions stem from guarantees provided by Dr. Chow and Prof. Chow on borrowings obtained by Niche-Tech Investments Holdings Limited, another controlling shareholder that holds 357.00 million shares, or approximately 50.6% of Niche-Tech Semiconductor Materials’ issued share capital. The company itself is not a borrower or guarantor under the disputed facilities, and the borrowings do not constitute indebtedness of the group.

Hearings for the petitions are scheduled for 1 December 2026. The two executives have engaged legal counsel and are assessing their positions. The board cautions that any bankruptcy order could affect both individuals’ roles as directors and their control over the company’s majority stake.

Management stated that, based on current information, the petitions have not triggered any default or cross-default clauses in existing financing arrangements of the group. The board will continue to monitor developments and issue further announcements in accordance with GEM Listing Rules and the Securities and Futures Ordinance.
