Beigene's GPC3x4-1BB Candidate Moves From Phase 1 to a Potential Pivotal Phase 2 Study in About 19 Months

Beigene revealed during a recent investor call that its GPC3x4-1BB bispecific antibody transitioned from first-in-human studies to the initiation of a potential registrational Phase 2 trial in approximately 19 months. The company noted that the molecule maintained a favorable safety and efficacy profile even after completing multiple dose-escalation cohorts, underscoring the strength of its global clinical execution capabilities.

Beigene described its research and development process as operating within a "big loop" and a "small loop." The "big loop" is exemplified by the journey of Brukinsa from project initiation to global commercial success. The "small loop" is demonstrated by novel molecules that quickly validate their safety and efficacy in early-stage clinical trials and then rapidly advance into registrational development.

The company stated that several solid tumor programs are on track to complete this "small loop" in 2026. Beigene believes this progress proves that its target selection process, molecular quality, and global development system possess a high degree of replicability.
