PayPal (PYPL.US) announced on Monday the launch of a new payment collection service that allows users to generate personalized one-time payment links, which can be shared in any conversation context to facilitate money transfers. According to the statement, U.S. users can now create personalized payment links through PayPal. The service is planned to expand to international markets in late September, initially covering countries including the United Kingdom and Italy.
Additionally, PayPal stated it will further upgrade the peer-to-peer (P2P) payment experience, with cryptocurrency set to be directly integrated into the new P2P payment process within its application. This adjustment will bring convenience to U.S. users: they will be able to directly transfer digital currencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and PayPal USD stablecoin to PayPal, Venmo (PayPal's subsidiary payment platform), and other digital wallets globally that support cryptocurrency and stablecoins.
