Motorists should prepare for another significant increase at the pump, as the next fuel price adjustment is scheduled for 12:00 AM on September 11. This marks a second consecutive rise in fuel costs, with projections indicating that filling up a standard 50-liter tank could become approximately 15 yuan more expensive.

Overnight trading on September 9 saw a substantial surge in international crude oil prices, despite a decline in US stock markets. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude settled at $96.05 per barrel, marking a 3.25% increase, while Brent crude closed at $101.21 per barrel, up 3.36%. Both benchmarks reached their highest settlement prices since late May, adding upward pressure to domestic fuel pricing.

As of the ninth working day of the current pricing cycle, data suggests that gasoline prices are expected to rise by 340 yuan per tonne and diesel by 330 yuan per tonne. Translated to retail prices, this would mean an increase of approximately 0.27 yuan per liter for 92-octane gasoline, 0.29 yuan per liter for 95-octane gasoline, and 0.28 yuan per liter for diesel fuel.

For the average driver with a 50-liter fuel tank, this adjustment translates to an additional cost of 13.5 to 14.5 yuan per fill-up. It is important to note that these figures are projections based on market analysis and may be adjusted, with the final price change to be confirmed in the official announcement.

Motorists looking to save on fuel costs are advised to consider refueling before the price adjustment takes effect on Wednesday evening, as the expected increase approaches 0.3 yuan per liter.
