Visa (V.US) has announced a deep integration of its VisaNet settlement data with on-chain lending infrastructure, aiming to provide working capital support for stablecoin-linked credit card projects and fintech companies. With customer authorization, lenders can now assess creditworthiness by combining on-chain transaction records, enabling automated settlement financing for eligible participants.

This announcement comes just two weeks after a CoinDesk exclusive report, highlighting Visa (V.US)'s accelerated push to identify stablecoin settlement partners with multi-jurisdictional licensing as competition intensifies in the fiat-backed digital asset space. Industry giants including Visa (V.US), Mastercard (MA.US), and Stripe have all identified stablecoins as a strategic priority, as these digital tokens, which peg their value to traditional financial assets—typically fiat currencies—continue to reshape the payment ecosystem.

Currently, more than 160 stablecoin-linked credit card programs operate on the Visa (V.US) network, with associated payment volumes surging nearly 200% year-over-year. However, emerging payment companies often struggle to secure funding from traditional lenders due to insufficient scale, limited operating history, or burdensome manual review requirements. Woofun AI data indicates that this structural financing gap is the primary driver behind Visa (V.US)'s exploration of on-chain solutions, as the company seeks to break the traditional credit system's dependence on physical credentials.

On the technical front, Visa (V.US) has been testing an early version of this model in partnership with decentralized lending platform Credit Coop. Through smart contracts, the system automates fund allocation, collateral management, and repayment processes. Since 2023, this mechanism has supported over $2.5 billion in settlement financing transactions, with participating projects maintaining a zero default rate.

On-chain data records show that the system has automatically processed more than 3,000 borrowing transactions and over 9,000 repayment transactions, validating the efficiency and security of decentralized finance tools within traditional payment scenarios. This partnership marks the formal acceptance of on-chain credit assessment systems by a traditional payment giant, transforming what was once a manual review process for working capital into an automated code-executed workflow.

As stablecoin payment volumes experience explosive growth, this financing model, built on real-time data and smart contracts, is poised to become the standard paradigm for addressing liquidity bottlenecks faced by emerging payment companies, further blurring the boundaries between traditional finance and decentralized finance.
