During the 2026 Tomb Sweeping Festival holiday, a convergence of peak travel periods for memorial visits, spring outings, and folk temple fairs led to massive crowds at cemeteries, tourist attractions, and major transportation routes across Lianyungang. This surge significantly increased pressure on wireless network services. To ensure clear calls, smooth internet access, and seamless communication for residents and visitors, the Lianyungang branch of China Mobile's Jiangsu company implemented advanced planning and comprehensive deployment. With all staff on duty, the company launched a special wireless network support operation focused on three key areas: memorial sites, folk temple fairs, and spring scenic spots. The initiative successfully provided full signal coverage and robust network performance, completing the holiday communication support task effectively.

Well in advance of the holiday, a dedicated task force was established to analyze historical network data and accurately predict this year's passenger flow and data traffic peaks. A tailored support plan was developed for each specific area. For key memorial sites, network capacity was enhanced through base station expansion, parameter optimization, carrier aggregation, and coordinated 4G/5G deployment. This ensured stable performance for voice calls, video streaming, online memorial services, and mobile payments during peak visitation times. For popular folk events like the Haizhou Nancheng and Kangri Mountain temple fairs, pre-emptive signal testing and coverage improvements were conducted around the main venues. Dynamic spectrum allocation was used to support high-bandwidth activities such as live streaming, photo sharing, and QR code ticket purchases. To manage the spring travel rush, comprehensive coverage was ensured at hotspots like Huaguo Mountain, Liandao, and Yueya Island, as well as at highway exits and major roads. Key base stations received specialized inspections and capacity upgrades, achieving complete 4G/5G signal coverage in all critical zones.

During the holiday, unexpected gatherings at Donghai County's Heilongtan and Guanyun County's Yiyuan scenic areas created potential network congestion risks. In response, the Lianyungang branch activated its emergency support plan, swiftly deploying one emergency communication vehicle to Donghai and a compact mobile unit to key areas in Guanyun. The support teams quickly set up equipment, performed signal tests, and activated network access, boosting local capacity by enabling up to 1,500 additional simultaneous user connections in a single area. This effectively alleviated high traffic pressure. Technicians remained on-site to monitor network performance and promptly address any issues, ensuring stable service for visitors and local residents at scenic spots and memorial locations.

The efficient and stable wireless network support received positive feedback from the public, tourists, and local authorities. Moving forward, the Lianyungang branch will continue to refine its network support mechanisms for major holidays and high-density scenarios, enhancing both service quality and user experience through digital innovation.
