Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Meets Xiaomi's Lei Jun During UAE Official Visit

On April 15, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, met with chairpersons from several leading Chinese companies during his official visit to China. Sheikh Khaled emphasized that the UAE is a key strategic partner for China in the Middle East and North Africa region, noting that bilateral cooperation has yielded substantial results across multiple critical areas. He stated that the two nations will continue to deepen collaboration in sectors such as energy, technology, investment, and renewable energy to further advance bilateral relations. Lei Jun, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, shared a post with photos from the meeting.

Earlier, on April 13, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez visited Xiaomi’s headquarters and toured the Xiaomi Home flagship store. During the visit, Prime Minister Sánchez tested the Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphone, taking photos with accompanying journalists and snapping a selfie with Lei Jun. He also showed keen interest in Xiaomi’s electric vehicles, inquiring about performance, battery life, and smartphone-car connectivity, while experiencing models such as the new SU7 and YU7. Lei Jun noted that Xiaomi places great importance on the Spanish market, having entered it as early as 2017. Since the third quarter of 2020, Xiaomi has ranked first in smartphone shipments in Spain, capturing 26% of the local market share.
