On August 30, at 1:30 PM, the first emergency base station located directly beside the national border gate at Gyirong Port was officially activated and put into operation. Positioned just 1.2 kilometers from the border gate, this station addresses critical communication gaps in the frontier zone, delivering reliable and stable connectivity to support on-site rescue operations, road restoration efforts, material transport, and frontline personnel working in the area.

According to reports, CHINA UNICOM has implemented a "full-network" emergency mode and enabled 5G inter-network roaming functionality, significantly enhancing network coverage, stability, and resilience in the border region. These measures strengthen the area's capacity to withstand disruptions and ensure continuous communication under challenging conditions.

Looking ahead, CHINA UNICOM will continue to closely monitor road reopening progress and disaster developments, maintain readiness for mobile base station support, and persistently improve network quality along the border. The company is committed to building a robust emergency communication defense line to safeguard operations and public safety.
