Additionally, the U.S. Department of Justice has issued a criminal subpoena to the Fed concerning testimony from Chair Jerome Powell about the central bank's ongoing building renovation project. Powell has indicated that this investigation is part of the Trump administration's efforts to influence monetary policy.
