Former US President Donald Trump, speaking at an event in Georgia on the 22nd, stated that the latest data showing the largest drop in US inflation in over six years proves his administration "governed the country well." Trump simultaneously emphasized that the previous high inflation had "nothing to do" with him, placing the blame on the prior administration. He claimed he inherited the highest inflation levels in years upon taking office in 2025.

Data released by the US Labor Department on the 14th showed that, influenced by falling energy prices, the increase in the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) for June moderated, though significant inflationary pressures remain. Heather Long, Chief Economist at the industry financial institution Navy Federal Credit Union, noted that inflationary pressures eased somewhat in June. However, with renewed escalation in military tensions between the US and Iran, the trend of slowing inflation may be short-lived.
