IDC Recommendations for Technology Providers

Enterprises must build core competitive advantages in the Agent era. In an era where everyone is enthusiastic about large models and fully committed to intelligent agents, every technology company can develop software for various business domains based on Agents and provide related services.

Emphasize AI governance. As AI systems play increasingly important roles in high-risk decision-making, governance becomes crucial driven by regulatory pressure, AI failures, and complex deployments. Buyers and suppliers prioritize transparency, accountability, and ethical AI usage to comply with regulations and reduce risks such as algorithmic bias and data breaches.

Shift toward AI-driven business value. Enterprises are transitioning from AI experimentation to strategically prioritizing AI projects that deliver measurable business value, focusing on productivity, operational efficiency, and customer experience improvements. Buyers now require solutions with clear ROI, faster time-to-market, and support for enterprise-wide transformation, which is also one of the problems that large model platforms need to solve for users.

Lu Yanxia, Research Director of AI at IDC China, stated that from the growth achieved in the artificial intelligence software market in 2024, AI applications previously relied mainly on small and medium model empowerment, but since 2024, there has been a comprehensive shift toward generative AI applications based on large models. With the continuous penetration of large models, new architectures, new application deployment forms, and new models have the potential to comprehensively transform the technology market ecosystem.
