On November 28, Zheng Shanjie, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), chaired another symposium with private enterprises in the service sector to gather suggestions for promoting high-quality development in the industry during the formulation of the "15th Five-Year Plan" outline.

Director Zheng emphasized that the service sector, which integrates production, supply, transportation, and sales across numerous industries, plays a vital role in daily life and economic stability. Its high-quality development is crucial for job retention, investment expansion, consumption growth, and public welfare. He noted that China's service industry holds vast potential during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period and urged enterprises to seize opportunities, strengthen core operations, enhance service quality, and drive industrial transformation to meet evolving consumer demands.

The NDRC will incorporate valuable suggestions from businesses into the "15th Five-Year Plan" outline. Aligned with the decisions of the 20th CPC Central Committee’s Fourth Plenum, the commission will accelerate institutional and policy improvements for the service sector. Key measures include expanding capacity and quality, integrating resources, fostering industry-education collaboration, reducing innovation costs through talent and technology, optimizing logistics efficiency, and advancing the convergence of modern services and advanced manufacturing.

Additionally, the NDRC will strengthen regular government-enterprise communication to address corporate concerns and support the healthy, high-quality growth of the private economy.

Representatives from companies such as TRIP.COM-S (09961), Ningbo Peacebird Fashion Co., Ltd. (603877), and other service-sector leaders attended the meeting. Senior NDRC officials, including Vice Director Zheng Bei and Secretary-General Yuan Da, also participated.
