WuXi AppTec (Stock Code: 02359) disclosed a cybersecurity incident affecting its Biology business segment’s DNA-Encoded Library (DEL) platform, which houses specialized chemical compound libraries for early-stage discovery projects. The breach involved unauthorized access to certain data files.

Immediately after detection, the company activated incident-response protocols, engaged external cybersecurity specialists and legal counsel, and contained the breach. WuXi AppTec affirmed that no other IT systems were compromised and reported no evidence of data publication, misuse or exploitation to date. Impacted Biology segment customers have already been informed.

The company stated that normal operations and service delivery remain unaffected, with all IT systems—including the DEL platform—functioning normally. Additional security measures have been implemented, and further reinforcements will follow pending completion of the ongoing investigation.

WuXi AppTec advised shareholders and potential investors to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s shares. The board, chaired by Dr. Ge Li, issued the announcement on 24 August 2026.
