ST Engineering has officially launched the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN)’s first Victory-class Multi-Role Combat Vessel (MRCV), named Victory, at its Benoi Yard. This vessel marks the beginning of a contract to build six vessels.

The company received the contract for the detailed design and construction of the MRCV in March 2023, with plans to deliver the vessels progressively starting in 2028.

ST Engineering is tasked with the procurement and integration of both platform and MINDEF-furnished equipment.

Measuring 150 meters in length, the vessel is designed to function as a “mothership” for unmanned systems, allowing operations across air, surface, and subsurface domains. According to ST Engineering, the MRCV is equipped to support a variety of missions, ranging from maritime security and surveillance to high-intensity combat operations.

Following the launch, MRCV Victory will be transferred from Benoi Yard to Gul Yard for further outfitting, integration, and sea trials. ST Engineering is committed to delivering the full fleet of MRCVs to the RSN progressively by 2028.

“The launch of MRCV Victory showcases the strength of our collaboration,” stated Mervyn Tan, President of Defence & Public Security at ST Engineering. “Working alongside the Republic of Singapore Navy and the Defence Science and Technology Agency, we have laid the groundwork for the successful delivery of future-ready naval platforms that will enhance Singapore’s maritime defence.”

ST Engineering's shares closed at $8.25 on October 21, reflecting a gain of 15 cents or 1.852%.
