Emerging Market ETFs Listed in the US See Further Capital Withdrawals, South Korea Leads Outflows

Investors withdrew capital from exchange-traded funds (ETFs) investing in emerging market equities and bonds for the second consecutive week.

Compiled data reveals that, for the week ending May 29, emerging market ETFs listed in the United States—which invest across multiple developing nations or in specific countries—experienced total outflows of $1.44 billion. This follows outflows of $1.3 billion the previous week. Year-to-date, total inflows for these funds stand at $41.3 billion.

Breaking down the figures by market, South Korea recorded the largest capital outflow, amounting to $735.5 million.

Argentina saw the largest capital inflow, at $41.1 million.
