The city of Beijing has set a clear goal to become a global nexus for scientific artificial intelligence innovation within the next few years.

A recently released implementation plan outlines the city's strategy to accelerate the integration of AI into scientific research from 2026 through 2028.

The plan specifies that the municipality will drive the adoption of benchmark applications across six high-value scenarios within the scientific AI domain.
