On July 14, Direxion Daily South Korea Bull 3X Shares (KORU) rose 8.01% in pre-market trading to $452.19/share, with turnover of $81.28 million. The rebound follows a dramatic recovery in Korean equities during the Asian session, after the KOSPI plunged 8.95% on July 13 in what Goldman Sachs termed a liquidity-driven position washout rather than fundamental deterioration.

Korean stocks staged a deep V-shaped recovery on July 14, with the KOSPI closing up 0.73% at 6,856.83 points after briefly falling over 4% in the morning session before a SIDECAR mechanism halted programmatic selling. The Nikkei 225 also gained 0.74%. Goldman Sachs noted that the Monday crash was triggered by concentrated deleveraging in single-stock leveraged ETFs rather than deteriorating fundamentals, with foreign and domestic institutions net selling over $2.6 billion combined. The firm suggested extreme volatility may represent a window to position in memory chip stocks.

Adding to stabilization efforts, Korean regulators announced an emergency F4 coordination meeting for Thursday to discuss leveraged ETF containment measures, while the Bank of Korea maintained that the AI-driven semiconductor supercycle remains intact.

The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in financial instruments providing daily 3x leveraged exposure to the MSCI Korea 25/50 Index, covering approximately 85% of the free float-adjusted market capitalization of South Korean issuers.
