At the 2026 Aggregated Intelligent Industry Development Conference, held on September 9th in Wuhan's Optics Valley and co-organized by the Aggregated Intelligent Industry Innovation Center and Hubei Science and Technology Investment, You Zheng, Deputy General Manager and Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, stated that intelligent vehicles are currently the wheeled embodied intelligent agents with the largest commercial scale and most mature implementation conditions, serving as the parent industry, optimal testing ground, and large-scale stress testing platform for the aggregated intelligent industry. He pointed out that the industry is undergoing three fundamental changes.

First, the transformation of intelligent forms: The AI we interact with is moving from "conversing with the digital world" to "acting in the physical world." Large models enable robots to "listen, speak, see, and think," while embodied intelligence allows them to "reason, act, learn, and execute." AI is evolving from a digital assistant into an action-oriented agent in the physical world. The next 3-5 years represent the strategic window for large-scale commercialization and global competition, marking a key high ground in worldwide industrial rivalry.

Second, the shift in industrial boundaries: The tracks we operate in are moving from "independent competition within single domains" to "convergence across domains with shared origins." Intelligent vehicles, humanoid robots, and low-altitude aircraft, as the "three major components" of aggregated intelligence, share technological roots, common infrastructures, and integrated scenarios, with component overlap exceeding 60-70%. Aggregation is not an optional choice for enterprises but an objective law of industrial evolution—developing one set of underlying technologies can empower multiple carriers, and one common foundation can spawn countless scenarios. We must break down the barriers between tracks to unleash the full potential of new quality productive forces.

Third, the evolution of competitive paradigms: Competition is upgrading from "breakthroughs in single technologies" to "winning through full-chain ecosystems." The aggregated intelligent industry has long chains, wide spans, and high investment requirements, and no single entity can "dominate alone." It necessitates co-building common technologies, co-establishing standards, and co-upholding supply chains, which are critical factors determining industrial success. Looking toward the 15th Five-Year Plan period, intelligent connected new energy vehicles have already become a hub industry integrating "artificial intelligence, high-end manufacturing, new energy, and transportation," and aggregated intelligence will emerge as the new paradigm of industrial competition.

He noted that Dongfeng's "three evolutions" also serve as three proposals to the entire industry, aiming to foster a collaborative, secure, and mutually beneficial industrial ecosystem. First, co-creating from shared origins to build a new foundation of common technologies: Around common elements such as three-electric systems, perception components, automotive-grade chips, and "storage, computing, connectivity, and sensing," promote interface interoperability, standard mutual recognition, and testing alignment; jointly build high-quality datasets and training grounds to raise the industry's starting line. "Dongfeng is willing to take the lead in opening common platform capabilities like Tianyuan OS, working with partners to co-research, co-build, and co-use, treating real scenarios as the soil for innovation validation. Our core view is that the common foundation is not one company's moat but the shared cornerstone of the entire industry. All enterprises should reduce low-level repetition and increase high-quality collaboration, converting technological momentum into industrial advantage," he said.

Second, connecting globally to weave a new network of open collaboration: Adhering to "in China, for the world," welcome multinational enterprises to deeply integrate into China's aggregated intelligent industry chain; support Chinese companies in "going global" to build localized ecosystems; and promote the alignment and mutual recognition of international and domestic standards. Deeply interlinked industry chains represent the most stable form of symbiosis. Competition in aggregated intelligence is no longer a clash of closed systems but a contest of open ecosystems—requiring both a firm grip on core essentials and an embrace of global innovation resources.

Third, achieving integrated symbiosis to share the new dividends of industrial development: Drive industrial relationships from "chain-based supply and demand" toward networked value symbiosis—explore data rights confirmation and revenue sharing so technical contributors benefit; establish innovation consortia and funds so pioneers gain the advantage; and open real scenarios so cross-sector entrants find their footing. You Zheng emphasized that Dongfeng solemnly declares: fully open vehicle and factory scenarios, serve as the "first-use scenario" and "first-batch user" for new products, and deeply participate in building city-level aggregated intelligent pilot platforms. Only through shared benefits can the ecosystem thrive together.
