A prominent automotive blogger has issued a formal public apology to BYD Company Limited after a court ordered him to pay 2 million yuan in damages. The blogger, known as "Long Ge Jiang Dian Che" (Long Brother Talks Electric Cars), was found to have consistently published false and defamatory content targeting BYD, as well as other automakers Seres and XPeng Inc.

On May 16th, the blogger released a video apology. In it, he stated that the second-instance judgment in a case concerning unfair competition and commercial defamation against BYD, involving his personal account and the associated "Mange Dian New Energy" matrix of accounts, had taken effect. The court ordered him to pay 2 million yuan in compensation, issue a public apology, and take steps to eliminate the negative impact.

He admitted that in previous videos related to repairing BYD's battery, motor, and electronic control systems, he had made inappropriate remarks lacking factual basis, fabricated and spread false information, and severely damaged BYD's brand image and commercial reputation. He expressed deep regret and offered a sincere apology.

According to reports, the blogger and his associated accounts were sued by BYD, Seres, and XPeng for repeatedly publishing false and disparaging statements about the domestic automakers, resulting in total court-ordered compensation of 2.26 million yuan. On May 11th, he had just issued an apology statement to Seres and fulfilled a 160,000 yuan compensation obligation. In September of last year, he was ordered to compensate XPeng 100,000 yuan and delete all infringing content.
