During the event, public security officers presented real-world cases involving minors, such as online fraud, exposure to harmful information, and personal data breaches. Using accessible language, they explained fundamental cybersecurity principles, risk identification methods, and self-protection techniques, while dissecting common online traps encountered in daily internet use. The goal was to guide students toward adopting a correct view of cybersecurity and cultivating civilized, healthy, and safe browsing habits.
Departing from traditional lecture-only formats, the session incorporated engaging quizzes, rapid-fire Q&A rounds, and interactive activities that sparked lively participation. Students absorbed key security guidelines in a relaxed atmosphere, gaining practical skills in risk avoidance and privacy protection, ensuring the knowledge was both memorable and applicable.
"This cybersecurity lesson taught me a lot of practical tips. I won't trust unfamiliar online information, click on unknown links, or disclose personal and family details anymore," one student from Huangmei County First Primary School shared. The student vowed to uphold civilized internet use and actively remind peers to prioritize cybersecurity, contributing to a cleaner digital space.
Yu Hui, a teacher at the school, noted that the institution regularly conducts cybersecurity-themed education to encourage staff and students to adhere to online rules, participate in governance efforts, and promote digital civility. This multi-agency outreach precisely addressed gaps in campus cybersecurity education, significantly boosting the awareness, risk assessment capabilities, and emergency response skills of the entire school community.
"Teenagers are a key demographic for internet usage and a critical focus for cybersecurity protection," explained a local police officer. The bureau plans to carry out regular campus cybersecurity lectures to embed safety knowledge deeply, help minors steer clear of online risks, and guide students to become guardians of cybersecurity and advocates of digital civility.
Throughout Cybersecurity Awareness Week, Huangmei County will integrate resources from cyberspace administration, public security, and education departments to conduct a series of educational activities across local primary and secondary schools.
