Market research reports show that PC shipments in the Indian market increased year-over-year in the first half of this year. Among the top five manufacturers, Lenovo Group, HP Inc, Acer, and Asus all recorded shipment increases compared to the same period last year, while only Dell Technologies Inc. experienced a decline.
According to market research data, major manufacturers shipped a total of 6.829 million PCs in the Indian market during the first half of this year, up from 6.462 million units in the same period last year, representing a 5.7% year-over-year increase.
Breaking down by manufacturer, HP Inc led in shipments with 2.043 million units in the first half, compared to 1.998 million units in the same period last year, marking a 2.3% year-over-year increase.
Lenovo Group ranked second in shipments with 1.336 million units in the first half, up from 1.059 million units in the same period last year, representing a 26.1% year-over-year increase - the highest growth rate among the top five manufacturers by shipment volume.
Acer ranked third with shipments of 1.028 million units, compared to 971,000 units in the same period last year, showing a 5.9% year-over-year increase.
Dell Technologies Inc. ranked fourth in shipments, but their 911,000 units fell short of the 1.038 million units shipped in the same period last year, representing a 12.2% year-over-year decline.
Asus ranked fifth with 468,000 units shipped in the first half, significantly trailing the top four manufacturers but still higher than the 423,000 units shipped in the same period last year, marking a 10.7% year-over-year increase.
Other manufacturers shipped 1.044 million PCs in the Indian market during the first half, also up from 973,000 units in the same period last year, representing a 7.2% year-over-year increase.
