Thomas Pritzker, a prominent figure in the hospitality industry, will step down from his role as Executive Chairman of Hyatt Hotels. He stated that his decision aims to shield the company from potential fallout after newly released documents detailed the extent of his associations with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. In a statement issued on Monday, Pritzker said, "Maintaining contact with them was an egregious error in judgment, and I offer no excuses for my failure to distance myself from them sooner." He added, "I condemn the actions of Epstein and Maxwell and the harm they caused, and I am deeply remorseful for the pain inflicted upon the victims." Media reports from 2023 indicated that Pritzker was a frequent visitor to Epstein's residences. Recently disclosed documents by the U.S. Department of Justice reveal multiple meetings and email exchanges between Pritzker and Epstein over several years, including several scheduled meetings throughout 2018, as well as correspondence between Pritzker and Maxwell.
