Violoop secures hundreds of millions in funding with Lenovo Ventures among backers

Violoop announced on the morning of September 1 that it has completed a new round of financing totaling hundreds of millions of yuan, covering both angel and Pre-A rounds. The funding was jointly provided by Lenovo Ventures, Zhongjin Porsche, BlueRun Ventures, YuanSheng Capital, Qifu Capital, and Zero2IPO Ventures, with Sunny Capital serving as the long-term exclusive financial advisor.

Back in March of this year, Violoop had already announced the completion of tens of millions of yuan in seed and angel funding. According to available information, the company's first product is a palm-sized desktop device with a suggested retail price of $699, although it was offered at $399 during its initial launch on Kickstarter and in the domestic Chinese market. The device connects to a computer via HDMI to capture the display output and uses USB for keyboard and mouse control, allowing it to work with existing computers without requiring users to switch operating systems or have software developers create new interfaces for it.

To date, Violoop has received pre-orders with deposits from approximately 12,000 people worldwide, and the product is scheduled to officially launch in September.

Beyond the impressive funding amount, what deserves even closer attention is the deepening industrial synergy forming between Violoop and Lenovo Group (00992.HK). As Lenovo Group becomes a shareholder, it will also provide robust industrial support for scaling up Violoop's products through manufacturing capabilities, supply chain resources, global distribution channels, and brand equity. The two companies will also collaborate on tackling harder, more long-term valuable challenges, including Agent Harness, on-device personal models, and self-evolving closed-loop systems.
