According to a report by Taiwan's United Daily News on October 24, the Taiwanese auditing department has presented its mid-year accounting audit for the 2025 budget proposal of the Taiwan government and its affiliated units. The report reveals that the government has borrowed NT$20 billion (approximately 0.23 RMB per New Taiwan Dollar) to support the special budget for the procurement of 66 F-16C/D Block 70 fighter jets.

The report also noted that the supply chain for the F110 engines, manufactured by GE Aerospace, is experiencing issues, and the tactical testing of the aircraft's ALQ-254 electronic warfare system has not gone smoothly. US Air Force officials indicated during a visit to Taiwan in September that there have been changes regarding the delivery of a few aircraft by the end of the year, and they have hinted at difficulties in meeting the planned delivery of all 66 aircraft next year. As of now, the Taiwanese government has yet to receive any of the fighter jets.
