Aurora Networks has announced that its Converged Cable Access Platform solution continues to deliver value for service providers by optimizing network performance through the deployment of low latency DOCSIS technology, resulting in an enhanced experience for end-users.

The Aurora Networks product portfolio offers service providers multiple pathways to unlock potential within existing network assets, enabling continuous upgrades. The current DOCSIS 3.1 and D3.1 enhanced architectures leverage low latency DOCSIS technology to effectively increase available bandwidth and improve user experience, significantly boosting high-speed internet rates and reducing network latency through application-adapted delay performance.

Low latency DOCSIS technology prioritizes time-sensitive traffic, improving the performance of applications such as video conferencing, cloud computing, online gaming, and immersive experiences. This technology allows service providers to deliver near-fiber response speeds without replacing existing DOCSIS infrastructure, enabling users to enjoy smoother interactions, faster feedback, and more reliable performance even during peak usage periods.

Aurora Networks' E6000 Converged Edge Router and C100G are industry-leading cable access platforms, achieving notable improvements in channel density, energy efficiency, and cost savings, designed with a highly available, redundant integrated architecture. In addition to low latency DOCSIS, both platforms support Remote PHY Distributed Access Architecture, DOCSIS 3.1, and D3.1 enhanced technology. Enabling low latency DOCSIS requires only software and configuration adjustments on either platform, and the feature is compatible with any cable modem that supports low latency DOCSIS.

Craig Coogan, Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Product and Strategy at Aurora Networks, stated that global cable operators have shown significantly increased interest this year in the E6000 CER and C100G CCAP solutions to enhance user speed tiers and reduce latency, thereby improving their competitiveness against fiber operators. Factors driving this demand include impending end-of-support for CCAP products from other vendors, capital expenditure constraints, and rising costs for alternative DAA solutions.
