The People's Government of Guangdong Province has issued a notice announcing that, starting from September 1, 2026, both the monthly minimum wage standard and the hourly minimum wage standard for part-time workers will be increased across the province.

The adjustment establishes three categories of standards across the province. The first-tier standard is implemented in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. In Guangzhou, the monthly minimum wage will be adjusted to 2,680 yuan, while in Shenzhen, it will be set at 2,700 yuan. The corresponding hourly minimum wage for part-time workers in both cities is 25.4 yuan per hour.

The second-tier standard is adjusted to 2,300 yuan per month, applied in the cities of Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, and Zhongshan. The corresponding hourly minimum wage for part-time workers in these areas is 21.9 yuan per hour.

The third-tier standard is adjusted to 2,040 yuan per month, covering cities including Shantou, Shaoguan, Heyuan, Meizhou, Huizhou, Shanwei, Jiangmen, Yangjiang, Zhanjiang, Maoming, Zhaoqing, Qingyuan, Chaozhou, Jieyang, and Yunfu. The corresponding hourly minimum wage for part-time workers in these areas is 20.2 yuan per hour.

According to the former Ministry of Labor and Social Security's "Regulations on Minimum Wages" and the "Regulations on Wage Payment in Guangdong Province," the minimum wage standard refers to the minimum remuneration that an employer should pay to a worker who has provided normal labor during statutory working hours. This standard does not include overtime pay, allowances for special working environments such as high temperatures, or other welfare benefits stipulated by laws, regulations, and national policies.

The minimum wage standard consists of two forms: the monthly minimum wage standard, which applies to full-time workers, and the hourly minimum wage standard, which applies to part-time workers.
