Tiande Chemical’s 2025 ESG Report Highlights Emissions Uptick, Sets 2030 Targets and Tightens Supply Chain Oversight

Bulletin Express
04/22

Tiande Chemical released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance Report, detailing progress and targets across climate, resource use, labour practices and governance for the year ended 31 December 2025. The disclosure covers the Group’s core subsidiary, Weifang Binhai Petro-Chem, and has been approved by the Board.

Environment • Greenhouse gases: Total emissions rose 22.1 % to 517,230 tonnes CO₂-e (2024: 423,667 tonnes) on higher electricity use and expanded output. Scope 1 emissions reached 208,502 tonnes, Scope 2 278,775 tonnes and newly disclosed Scope 3 29,953 tonnes. Using 2025 as a base, the Group targets capping absolute emissions at +10 % by 2030 and holding them flat by 2050; excluding planned capacity additions, a decline is expected. • Air pollutants: NOx rose to 34.50 tonnes and SO₂ to 16.70 tonnes on capacity growth; smoke/dust fell to 2.60 tonnes as boiler upgrades boosted dust-removal efficiency. All readings stayed below Shandong’s ultra-low-emission limits. • Wastewater: Discharge increased to 598,664 tonnes; COD emissions climbed to 9.8 tonnes, both driven by higher volumes and new products. A treatment-capacity expansion is scheduled for 2026. • Waste: Hazardous waste sent to qualified third parties grew 18.8 % to 6,583.8 tonnes; non-hazardous waste fell 3.4 % to 10,408.1 tonnes on reduced coal ash. An expanded hazardous-waste storage area and additional incineration capacity are planned. • Resources: Total energy use rose 2.1 % to 1.12 million MWh. Thermal-coal consumption declined 10.0 % to 609,588 MWh, offset by a 22.0 % jump in electricity demand. Water use dropped 26.7 % to 707,661 m³ after higher condensate and wastewater recycling; intensity fell to 406.7 m³ per million RMB revenue. • Climate risk: Scenario analysis under IPCC/IEA pathways confirms rising physical and transition risks; mitigation centres on boiler upgrades, process automation and expanded waste-heat recovery.

Social • Workforce: Headcount stood at 1,190 (-12.4 % YoY); turnover rate was 14.1 %. All employees received an average of 62–65 training hours. • Safety: Zero work-related fatalities for the third straight year; 167 lost workdays. Enhanced AI-based safety platform, 12 emergency drills and upgraded explosion-proof and seismic systems were completed. • Labour standards: No child or forced labour identified; full compliance with PRC and Hong Kong employment laws. • Community: Donated RMB 50,000 to Weifang Huashi Education Foundation; continued local hygiene and welfare programmes.

Governance • Board oversight: ESG Working Group, led by the Safety & Environmental Protection Committee, reports regularly to the Board. • Integrity: Whistle-blowing mechanism in force; all staff receive anti-corruption training. No corruption cases reported in 2025. • Supply chain: Supplier base streamlined to 893 (-27 % YoY). All key suppliers undergo periodic ESG and quality audits; those with ISO 9001, 14001 or 45001 certifications are preferred.

Outlook Tiande Chemical plans further energy-efficiency projects, wastewater-treatment expansion and continued supply-chain consolidation to balance growth-driven output increases with its 2030–2050 carbon-management roadmap.
