Autoliv has maintained its full-year performance guidance while noting the difficulty in fully assessing the impact of ongoing geopolitical challenges. The company's stock rose 9% in Stockholm trading. The Swedish airbag and seatbelt manufacturer stated on Friday that it will continue to monitor developments closely and has prepared contingency plans for various scenarios, including implementing different risk mitigation measures. "While the business environment is uncertain, our current best judgment for the remainder of the year is to reaffirm our full-year 2026 guidance: organic sales to be roughly flat, with an adjusted operating margin of approximately 10.5% to 11%," said Chief Executive Officer Mikael Bratt. Autoliv reported that first-quarter performance exceeded expectations, with strong sales in March. Operational results surpassed forecasts, core profitability improved, and the positive trend continued in Asia, with robust growth in India, South Korea, and China. The company's net income for the first quarter reached $141 million, exceeding market expectations. Although this represents a decrease from the $167 million reported in the same period last year, it was above the Refinitiv-compiled consensus estimate of $138 million. Sales increased by 6.8% year-over-year to $2.75 billion, surpassing the company-compiled market consensus of $2.61 billion. The adjusted operating margin for the first quarter was 8.9%, compared to 9.9% in the prior-year period.
