Market Open: China's Commodity Futures Mostly Higher; Polysilicon and Crude Oil Surge Over 4%

At the opening of trading on August 7, 2026, China's domestic commodity futures contracts showed a broad uptrend, with more contracts rising than falling.

Leading the gains, polysilicon and Shanghai crude oil futures both surged by more than 4%. Fuel oil climbed nearly 3%, while asphalt, ethylene glycol (EG), metallurgical coke, and styrene (EB) all advanced by over 2%. Low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) rose nearly 2%, and container shipping (European route) futures added more than 1%.

On the downside, palladium fell by more than 2%, while platinum, silver, nickel, and tin futures all declined by over 1%.
