Shimao Services Holdings Limited announced the appointment of Mr. Dave Lau Chi Kin as an Independent Non-executive Director (INED), effective 15 September 2026. Lau will simultaneously assume the role of Chairman of the Nomination Committee and become a member of both the Audit Committee and the Remuneration Committee.

Lau, aged 60, is a registered professional engineer with more than 30 years of construction and project-consultancy experience across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Southeast Asia. His project portfolio includes large-scale developments such as Vietnam’s Times Square Complex and Hotel, the Sun City and Alpha Hill projects, the Westside City Hotel and Casino in the Philippines, and multiple resorts in Macau. Lau holds an Associateship in Construction Technology and Management from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and an MBA from Hong Kong Metropolitan University.

The incoming INED has no relationships with existing directors, senior management, or major shareholders and holds no shares in Shimao Services. Lau’s three-year appointment is governed by a letter of appointment stipulating an annual director’s fee of HK$0.36 million. He will retire and be eligible for re-election at the next annual general meeting and will subsequently be subject to retirement by rotation in line with the company’s articles.

Lau has confirmed full compliance with the independence criteria set out in Rules 3.13(1)–(8) of the Hong Kong Listing Rules and has no financial or other interests in the Group or any core connected persons.

With this appointment, Shimao Services meets the board composition requirements under Listing Rules 3.10(1), 3.21 and 3.27A. The board now comprises two Executive Directors—Mr. Hui Sai Tan, Jason (Chairman) and Mr. Jiang Lifeng (President)—and three Independent Non-executive Directors: Ms. Zhou Xinyi, Mr. Hui Wai Man, Lawrence, and Mr. Dave Lau Chi Kin.
