The second edition of the Tencent Qingyun Scholarship has officially kicked off, opening applications for master's and doctoral students with Chinese citizenship who are scheduled to graduate in January 2028 or later. The program targets fields including computer science, artificial intelligence, and their interdisciplinary areas.

As part of Tencent's initiative to support young talent and scientific research, this year's scholarship introduces three major upgrades in terms of award slots, incentives, and eligibility scope. First, the number of recipients has increased from 15 to 20, ensuring that more deserving individuals are recognized and supported.

Second, the incentives have become more practical, with each recipient receiving total benefits worth 500,000 yuan. While the cash component remains unchanged at 200,000 yuan, the research resources valued at 300,000 yuan have been upgraded from computing power to token allowances, enabling awardees to apply AI in more real-world scenarios.

Third, the eligibility has been broadened to include a wider range of universities, allowing Chinese students both domestically and overseas to apply, reflecting the belief that worthy exploration knows no geographical boundaries.

A representative from the Tencent Qingyun Scholarship program stated that Tencent firmly believes in rewarding worthy exploration, and aims to ignite the innovative potential of young scholars through a combination of cash and resources, driving cutting-edge breakthroughs in the field of artificial intelligence.
