Beijing, 3 Aug 2026—AIM Vaccine Co., Ltd. (AIM Vaccine) announced that wholly owned unit AIM Rongyu (Ningbo) Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has submitted all requested supplementary data to China’s Center for Drug Evaluation, marking a key milestone in the market-registration process for its self-developed serum-free iterative rabies vaccine (Acceptance No.: CXSS2500044).
The candidate completed on-site inspections earlier and has finished Phase III trials, demonstrating favorable safety, immunogenicity and immunological persistence while meeting all preset clinical endpoints. AIM Rongyu already holds a production licence and has built an international-standard, commercial-scale manufacturing facility, positioning the company for rapid market launch once regulatory approval is secured.
The serum-free process eliminates animal-serum components, addressing a core cause of allergic and local adverse reactions associated with existing Vero-cell and human-diploid serum-containing rabies vaccines. This technological upgrade aims to enhance patient safety and could position the product as a preferred option for vaccination clinics, which—under China’s 2023 rabies-prevention guidelines—must stock at least two vaccine types.
China is the world’s largest rabies-vaccine market, projected by China Insights Consultancy to reach RMB 14.80 billion by 2030, supported by product upgrades and rising accessibility. As the world’s second-largest rabies-vaccine supplier, AIM Vaccine expects the forthcoming product to strengthen its competitive standing and provide a material uplift to future operating results upon approval and commercialisation.
The company emphasised that completion of the supplementary data submission represents “important progress” in the regulatory review and reinforces its strategy of leading technological iteration in global rabies-vaccine development.
