Alphabet to Unveil $25 Billion AI Infrastructure Investment at Pennsylvania Energy Summit

Key Highlights:   Alphabet (GOOGL) subsidiary Google will invest $25 billion over the next two years in artificial intelligence infrastructure across the Mid-Atlantic region and other U.S. territories. Concurrently, the tech giant has secured a $3 billion hydropower procurement agreement within the PJM Interconnection grid zone.

These strategic commitments will be formally announced at Tuesday's Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit in Pittsburgh. The event, hosted at Carnegie Mellon University, will feature U.S. President Donald Trump, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, and bipartisan legislators among attendees.

Google's landmark hydropower deal with Brookfield Asset Management (BAM) includes funding to modernize two Brookfield facilities, advancing Google's "24/7 carbon-free energy" operational targets. Alphabet Chief Investment Officer Ruth Porat, representing the company at the summit, emphasized: "These investments will expand America's energy capacity while equipping citizens with AI-era skills. We support President Trump's urgent directive to accelerate AI infrastructure and clean energy development."

Separately, AI cloud provider CoreWeave (CRWV) is expected to unveil plans for a $6 billion Pennsylvania-based AI data center during the summit.

Alphabet shares remained largely unchanged in Tuesday's trading session, extending their year-to-date decline to 3%.
