A widespread communication service outage struck Verizon on the afternoon of the 8th, crippling telecom functions for thousands of users across the United States. Major metropolitan areas, including New York, Los Angeles, and Boston, experienced the most severe disruptions.

Network services have since been restored, but the specific cause of the incident has not yet been disclosed. According to data from the outage tracking website Downdetector, the network failure began around 3:30 PM Eastern Time on the 8th. Following the disruption, the platform recorded a sharp spike in user complaints, with the number of reports exceeding 13,000 at its peak.

The incident not only prevented Verizon subscribers from using regular communication services but also impacted other major telecom operators, such as AT&T and T-Mobile, leading to significant cross-network call failures. In response to the sudden outage, Verizon later issued a statement indicating that its technical team had resolved the voice service issues affecting some wireless users. The company advised that if individual users still face communication problems, they should try restarting their mobile devices.

However, Verizon has not yet provided any explanation or response regarding the root cause of this large-scale network paralysis.
