Xiaomi Smartphone Shipments Reclaim Top Spot in Southeast Asia Q2, First Time in 4 Years

According to market research reports, Xiaomi's smartphone shipments in the Southeast Asian market returned to first place in the second quarter of this year, marking the first time the company has led this market since Q2 2021.

Market research data shows that smartphone shipments from major manufacturers in Southeast Asia totaled 25 million units in Q2, slightly lower than the 25.3 million units in the same period last year, representing a 1% year-over-year decline.

Among individual manufacturers, Xiaomi ranked first with shipments of 4.7 million units, up from 4.4 million units in the same period last year, representing an 8% year-over-year increase. The company's market share also grew from 17% to 19%.

Transsion secured the second position with smartphone shipments of 4.5 million units in Q2 Southeast Asia, up from 3.9 million units in the same period last year, marking a 17% year-over-year increase. Its market share rose to 18% from 15% in the previous year.

Samsung Electronics ranked third with shipments of 4.3 million units, down from 4.5 million units in the same period last year, representing a 3% year-over-year decline. Its market share also fell from 18% in the same period last year to 17%.

OPPO and Vivo ranked fourth and fifth respectively in terms of shipments, with 3.5 million units and 2.8 million units respectively, both lower than the same period last year. OPPO experienced a 19% year-over-year decline, while Vivo saw a 21% year-over-year drop.

Other manufacturers' smartphones shipped a combined 5.1 million units in Q2 Southeast Asia, up from 4.8 million units in the same period last year, representing a 7% year-over-year increase. Their combined market share also increased from 19% in the same period last year to 21%.
