IMF and World Bank Group to Hold 2026 Annual Meetings in Bangkok from October 12 to 18

The 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from Monday, October 12 to Sunday, October 18, 2026.

The IMF stated that hosting the meetings in Bangkok highlights Thailand's position as a regional and global conference hub, reflecting its economic resilience, institutional progress, and deepening engagement with international partners over the past three decades.

Thailand last hosted the Annual Meetings in 1991. Hosting them again after so many years underscores the progress of the country and the wider region, and recognizes Asia's central role in shaping today's global economic and financial stability agenda.

The 2026 Annual Meetings will bring together central bank governors, finance and development ministers, private sector representatives, civil society, media, and academia to discuss the most pressing issues facing the global economy, including the world economic outlook, global financial stability, poverty eradication, inclusive economic growth and job creation, climate change, digitalization, and other topics.

The two institutions typically hold their Annual Meetings at their Washington headquarters for two consecutive years, and once every three years in a member country.
