On the news front, according to an announcement on the company's official WeChat account on January 28, WERIDE-W officially launched its self-developed universal simulation model—WeRide GENESIS.

This model establishes a bridge integrating Physical AI and Generative AI, connecting the "real physical world" with the "virtual simulation world," which is expected to accelerate the large-scale R&D, training, and commercial deployment of autonomous vehicles.

Reportedly, leveraging generative AI technology, WeRide GENESIS can rapidly "generate worlds" in the virtual environment—constructing highly realistic simulated urban settings in just minutes and accurately replicating extreme, long-tail scenarios that are difficult to frequently encounter in real-world road testing.

This enables autonomous driving systems to undergo intensive training and validation within the virtual environment.

Simultaneously, by continuously feeding back the experience generated from simulations to real-world operations, WeRide GENESIS significantly enhances the capability and iteration efficiency of autonomous driving algorithms in handling complex scenarios in the real physical world.

Furthermore, it substantially reduces the time and costs traditionally associated with physical road testing.
