Nam Cheong Limited announced it has secured shipbuilding contracts worth about 87 million Singapore dollars for four offshore support vessels from an established United Arab Emirates-based global energy maritime logistics company.

The deal covers two 60-metre dive support vessels and two 60-metre remote-operated landing crafts, with deliveries scheduled for the second half of 2027 and early 2028. The landing crafts will be fully unmanned and remotely controlled via satellite from shore stations.

All four vessels will be built at Nam Cheong’s Miri Yard in Sarawak, Malaysia. The contracts are expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings over the financial years 2026 to 2028.

Nam Cheong said the order is its first newbuild contract in more than a decade and comes amid improving demand for offshore support vessels driven by a recovery in global oil and gas activities.
