Industrial software provider PTC Inc. has announced that Mazda Motor Corporation has selected its Codebeamer application lifecycle management solution for the development of software-defined vehicles. Mazda will utilize Codebeamer to standardize its requirements management, testing, and verification processes, achieving end-to-end traceability throughout the vehicle development cycle.

As vehicles become increasingly software-driven, Tomohiko Adachi, Chief Principal Engineer of the KURUMA Development Division at Mazda, noted that collaboration among product development teams in a connected and standardized environment is becoming critical. Codebeamer helps enhance the traceability and transparency of requirements, effectively facilitating coordination between various teams. The solution remains connected to Mazda's existing model-based development systems and replaces a previously fragmented legacy toolset with a unified product data foundation, supporting compliance with automotive industry standards.

This collaboration comes as PTC Inc. reports strong recent financial performance. The company's previously released second-quarter fiscal 2026 results showed revenue reaching $774 million, a 22% year-over-year increase, surpassing market expectations of $712 million. Adjusted earnings per share were $2.69, significantly exceeding analyst expectations of $2.10. Robert Dahdah, Chief Revenue Officer at PTC Inc., stated that Codebeamer is helping Mazda consolidate scattered documentation, support requirements management and collaboration, and assist in its transition to a software-defined vehicle development model.
